Why I photograph weddings: I love weddings! I love meeting new people and sharing that special day. I love capturing the details and creating breath-taking images. I also appreciate the history of the day. In 40 or 50 years when your grandchildren are looking at the images of your wedding day; I want them to see and feel the essence of the love that you share; Captured in the images of your wedding day.
My favorite quote: “I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of the Ngoon Hills.” by Isak Dinesen- Out Of Africa
That quote sets the tone for a literary classic. I went to the old farm on one of my trips to Africa. It’s easy to see why she fell in love with the continent.
My favorite dessert: Nothing beats a Strawberry Shake!
My favorite place to visit: My uncle had a 400 acre farm we call Limestone. For a while they raised horses there. There was a pond for swimming and fishing. It had rolling hills, lots of woods and fields of wheat. The house dated back to the 1850’s. As my uncle would say “If you were in the right state of mind and the house connected to you; you could feel the ages of memories that still lived within those walls.”
My ideal Friday night:
I can spend the night hitting the city or just as easily crash at home bingeing Prime or Disney+. It just depends on my mood.
A little more about me: I spent 10+ years working as a photojournalist. I was in Ukraine during the revolution and afterwards explored the ruins of Pripyat. In Africa I documented life at several orphanages, documented and help to build a medical center in the village of Buchifi. I’ve photographed wildlife out in the plains and grasslands; and I was in a flat boat the had a dangerous encounter with a bull hippo.
